Abstract

In the land acquisition activity for the expansion of Jalan T. Iskandar, obstacles were found related to the release of rights by land owners to land used for business functions in order to apply for building permit (IMB), where the owner who wants to apply for an IMB must release his land which is included in the line building boundaries (GSB) on front and side according to the function and width of the road where the building is located. The purpose of this study is to determine the status and legal consequences of relinquished land rights and the solutions implemented by the land acquisition committee regarding these problems. This study uses a qualitative method with descriptive approach. In that activity, it was found that there was land designated as state land due to the release made by the owner at the time of processing the IMB, but there were several areas that were designated as land rights because they did not have an IMB. The solution implemented by the land acquisition committee is to ask the Banda Aceh City Government to take persuasive approach to owners who do not have an IMB so that they want to release their land in order to administer the IMB.
