Abstract

PT Indonesian Trading Company (PT PPI) is a company engaged in the trade sector which has many assets in the form of land and buildings spread throughout Indonesia. One of the assets owned by PT PPI is located on Jalan Kencur, Ancol Village, Pademangan District, North Jakarta City which is designated as a chemical warehouse. Then when it was no longer used, the land was controlled by the surrounding community, causing a dispute between the company and the community. The purpose of this study is to find out the background of the community in controlling the company's land and the settlement efforts that have been made. This type of research is legal research with empirical legal research methods and a case approach. The results of this study are the reasons why the community has taken control of PT PPI's land, namely the lack of optimization of assets by the company, community economic factors, and the existence of unlicensed land use for personal gain. Efforts to resolve this dispute through negotiations between PT PPI and the community for land clearing. The success factor in efforts to resolve this dispute is influenced by two things, namely factors from the company and factors from the community.
