Abstract

The construction of the Kediri-Tulungagung Toll Road in Tiron Village has had an impact on the community around the construction. The impact felt by the community influences the social and economic conditions of the community. Social conditions influence changes in people's attitudes and habits. Meanwhile, economic conditions influence changes in people's livelihoods and income. This research aims to determine the potential impact that occurs with the construction of the Kediri-Tulungagung Toll Road on the social and economic conditions of the community and the government's efforts to provide social protection to the community in Tiron Village. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data used are the results of interviews with the Kediri Regency Land Office, Tiron Village and the Tiron Village community and literature studies regarding social safeguards. The analysis was carried out by analyzing changes in attitudes, habits, livelihoods and income of the people in Tiron Village. The results of the research obtained are that with the construction of the Kediri-Tulungagung Toll Road, the attitudes and habits of most of the affected communities have changed, while the majority of the affected communities have not experienced any changes. People's livelihoods and income have also changed, the majority of affected people have experienced changes in their livelihoods by trading so that it is profitable, while the majority of affected people have experienced losses because they have to move or build backwards. There have been no efforts in the context of social safeguards from the government for communities affected by the construction of the Kediri-Tulungagung Toll Road in Tiron Village.
