Abstract

This research discusses the issues surrounding the exchange of village treasury land with community land in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, specifically in Sriharjo Village, Imogiri Subdistrict, Bantul Regency, and Margokaton Village, Seyegan Subdistrict, Sleman Regency. The background of this research is the importance of land for the welfare of individuals and communities, as well as the need for legal certainty of land rights. The study aims to understand the factors that lead to the exchange of village treasury land with community land, the implementation of such exchanges, the problems and causative factors in these exchanges, and alternative solutions that can be offered. The research method used is qualitative analysis with a case study approach in Sriharjo Village and Margokaton Village. The findings show that land exchanges are carried out for public interests such as the construction of irrigation channels and other public facilities, as well as to enhance economic and social activities of the community. Although the exchange of village treasury land can benefit the community, the uncertainty of land rights status is an issue that needs to be promptly addressed to prevent potential land problems in the future.
