Abstract

Indonesia is a country based on a government system, where villages have a position as the lowest tier. The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy based on the National Medium Term Development Plan 2020–2024 accelerates the recovery of the tourism sector and creative economy in Indonesia, one of which is by developing tourist villages, by targeting 244 certified tourist villages to become independent tourist villages. Genilangit Tourism Village was inaugurated as an Icon Tourism Village for the Acceleration of National Economic Recovery by creating a tourist attraction with maximum use of space, thereby realizing the process of improving the welfare of the people at the tourist location. This research was conducted qualitatively with a descriptive analysis approach to determine the process and impacts caused by village designation. The determination of the Genilangit Tourism Village affects the physical components, namely changes to P4T with or without changing the shape of the earth's surface cover and with or without transferring control and ownership of land. Changes in the form of land cover or land use in the form of construction of facilities to support tourist villages, such as construction of accessibility and facilities to support the development of tourist villages. Meanwhile, changing land use without changing land cover takes the form of commercializing houses into homestays. Then changes in control relate to the transfer of land rights for tourism activities. The non-physical component is socio-economic, where social is related to social interactions, social cohesion to describe social conditions, while economic conditions include increasing income, increasing employment opportunities, and economic diversity. Apart from the impacts that have been felt, there is the potential impact of changes in physical and non-physical components on the determination of tourist villages in the form of development planning for the development of tourist villages which is arranged in a master plan for the development of tourist villages which, if carried out, will have a wider impact on the determination of tourist villages.
