Abstract
Binangun Village is one of the villages in Watumalang District, located on the slopes of Mount Bismo. This area has high potential for numerous landslide disasters due to its diverse topographical conditions, with many slopes, cliffs, and valleys. Binangun Village has an area of 773,709 hectares with a population of approximately 7,828 people, which is the highest in Watumalang District. In the period of 2021-2023, there were about 17 landslide incidents in this village, a number considered high. This research aims to determine the level of landslide hazard vulnerability in Binangun Village settlements, the suitability between settlement distribution and landslide-prone areas, efforts that can be applied by the village government in landslide disaster mitigation, and the role of the community in landslide disaster mitigation. The data analysis methods applied in this research are scoring and weighting method, spatial overlay analysis method, and multiple ring buffer method. The research results show that out of the total 47,384 hectares of settlements in Binangun Village, there are four levels of landslide hazard vulnerability: low, medium, high, and very high vulnerability. The medium vulnerability level has the highest area, while the very high vulnerability level has the lowest area. Additionally, there are three zones of settlement distribution suitability to landslide-prone areas: 46% suitable, 24% moderately suitable, and 30% unsuitable for settlements. Landslide disaster mitigation efforts that can be implemented by the village government in accordance with Law No. 24 of 2007 include pre-disaster, emergency response, and post-disaster phases. Good coordination with the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) and the active role of the community in mitigation can increase community preparedness for landslide disasters in Binangun Village.
