Abstract

Indonesia is currently aggressively carrying out development in various fields, both physical and non-physical. These development efforts require land as a medium that covers all aspects of human life. The government realizes that land acquisition and development will never end. Land acquisition that provides compensation must be able to ensure that the socio-economic welfare of the community is no worse than the situation before the land is used by other parties. This study aims to analyze the utilization of land acquisition compensation money in the construction of the Cibitung - Cilincing Toll Road on the socio-economic conditions of the entitled parties in Bunibakti Village, Babelan District, Bekasi Regency. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The formulation of the problem raised is how the use of compensation money by the entitled parties, as well as how the impact on changes in their socio-economic conditions. The results showed that the majority of the entitled parties utilized the compensation money for productive purposes, such as the purchase of agricultural land, construction of new houses, and opening new businesses. Others used it for consumptive purposes, such as house repairs, vehicle purchases, and Hajj or Umrah travel expenses. The socioeconomic impacts seen in employment, education, income, and property ownership include changes in employment, increased ability to finance children's education, changes in income, and increased property ownership. Some informants experienced job changes from farmers to self-employed or traders, while others no longer work. Increased income occurred for those who used the compensation money as capital for new businesses or the development of existing businesses. Increases also occurred in the ownership of property, vehicles and electronic equipment. Thus, productive use of compensation money can have a positive impact on improving the socio-economic conditions of eligible parties, although further attention is needed to ensure the long-term benefits of the compensation money received.
