Abstract

Oil and gas mining in Bojonegoro Regency, particularly at the Banyu Urip Oil Field, has had a significant impact on the economic growth and social life of the surrounding community. The presence of the Banyu Urip Oil Field in Bojonegoro has brought several rapid changes in the socio-economic aspects of the community, including changes in employment and income, changes in land use, and increases in land value and taxable property value (NJOP). In terms of changes in employment and income, the Banyu Urip Oil Field has created opportunities for people who lost their jobs due to the shift from agricultural to non-agricultural land use. The existence of infrastructure and oil and gas mining requires development locations (land), leading to changes in land use and increases in both land value and NJOP in the surrounding areas. The objectives of this research are: (1) To determine the impact of oil and gas mining on the socio-economic conditions of the surrounding community, including changes in employment and income. (2) To determine the impact of oil and gas mining on changes in land use around the location. (3) To determine the impact of oil and gas mining on land value increases and their distribution around the location. (4) To determine the impact of oil and gas mining on NJOP increases and their distribution around the location. The research method used is qualitative with a spatial and descriptive statistical approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, and documentation. The research results show non-physical impacts in the form of changes in employment and income for the community. Despite limited agricultural land, the majority of people still work as farmers. Their income depends on how they use compensation money: those who buy land or start businesses experience income increases, while those who us it for lifestyle purposes tend to experience income decreases. Physical impacts include changes in land use and increases in land value and NJOP. In 2007, the land was predominantly rice fields (78.94%), but by 2024, the land was mostly used for mining (42.07%). The average increase in land value reached 176%, with the highest increase on dry fields and the lowest on residential land. The average NJOP increase was 209%, with the highest increase on dry fields and the smallest on rice fields. This research provides an in-depth picture of the impact of oil and gas exploitation on the community of Mojodelik Village.
