Abstract

The conversion of land use from rice fields to non-agricultural purposes is a common phenomenon in urban buffer zones, including in Megamendung District, Bogor Regency. This change often occurs without regard to the established spatial plans, leading to inconsistencies in land use. This study aims to identify the spatial distribution pattern of land use changes, evaluate the conformity of these changes with the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW) of Bogor Regency, and analyze the factors influencing land use inconsistency in Megamendung District.The research employs a quantitative approach with spatial analysis using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Land use data from 2019 and 2024 were obtained through the interpretation of 30-meter resolution Landsat multispectral satellite imagery. The spatial pattern of land use changes was analyzed using the Nearest Neighbour Analysis method, while land use conformity was assessed by overlaying the land use change map with the RTRW map of Bogor Regency for the period 2024–2044. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to determine the factors influencing land use inconsistency, with population density, accessibility, and slope as independent variables.The results show that 304 hectares of rice fields were converted between 2019 and 2024, with a clustered distribution pattern. Most of the changes were found to be inconsistent with the applicable RTRW. The regression analysis revealed that population density and accessibility significantly affect land use inconsistency, while slope does not have a significant influence.
