Abstract

Land acquisition is one of the government's strategies to develop infrastructure in order to meet the need for housing, public and social facilities, as well as public open spaces. This includes the construction of reservoirs, dams, drainage channels, irrigation canals, ring roads, toll roads, terminals, mosques, airports, and other public infrastructures aimed at improving community welfare. This study aims to identify the impact of the construction of Al Jabbar Mosque on land use conversion, land value, and the socio-economic conditions of the community in Gedebage District, Bandung City. The research employs a qualitative method with a spatial approach, supported by descriptive analysis. The results indicate that there has been a significant land use change from agricultural to non-agricultural uses such as housing, commercial buildings (ruko), and service-related activities, particularly within a 500-meter radius from the mosque center, analyzed using the buffer method. This land conversion has led to a noticeable increase in land value. Land that previously held low economic value due to limited agricultural productivity has now appreciated significantly due to its higher functional value. Additionally, the socio-economic conditions of the local community have shifted, particularly in terms of employment and income. Most residents who were formerly farmers have changed occupations in line with land conversion and the development of the mosque. Overall, these changes are moving in a positive direction, demonstrating that the development has brought tangible benefits to the surrounding community.
