Abstract
Land conversion that occurred in Purworejo Regency in 2011-2021 showed more than 19,500 hectares and became one of the factors considering the revision of Purworejo Regency Spatial Plan 2011-2031 to Purworejo Regency Spatial Plan 2021-2041. This study attempted to compare agricultural conditions during the enactment of the two spatial plans based on land conversion, land conversion patterns, land use suitability to spatial planning and the influence of land conversion on rice production. This research was conducted using a qualitative method with a spatial approach to recognize the spatial analysis of land use change and was conducted with a quantitative method to examine the influence and relationship between land use change and rice production. The results show that during the enactment of the Purworejo Regency Spatial Plan 2021-2041, there was a tendency for the average annual land conversion to be greater. During the enactment of the 2011-2031 Purworejo Regency spatial plan, land use change has a significant positive influence on rice production so that the higher the land use change, the higher the increase in rice production. While the period of validity of the Spatial Plan of Purworejo Regency in 2021-2041, land use change has an insignificant negative effect on rice production so that the higher the land use change, the higher the decrease in rice production. Keywords: spatial planning, agricultural land conversion, agriculture
