Abstract

The construction of the Cibeet Dam in Cariu Village, Cariu Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, is part of infrastructure development that requires land acquisition. This process is carried out through the provision of compensation to entitled parties in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. However, the use of this compensation has become a crucial issue, as it directly affects the recipients. This study aims to analyze the utilization of compensation funds and their impact on the welfare of entitled parties based on indicators such as education, employment, income, expenditure, housing, and health. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through interviews with 20 compensation recipients, field observations, and supporting documentation. The results show that 70% of informants used the money productively, such as starting businesses, funding education, and building houses, which contributed to increased income and improved living standards. Meanwhile, the remaining 30% used the funds for consumptive purposes, such as purchasing vehicles and electronics, which only had short-term impacts. In conclusion, productive use of compensation funds contributes more significantly to sustainable welfare for the recipients. Keywords: Utilisation of Compensation Money, Welfare, Land Acquisition
