Abstract

Traffic congestion in Bandung City, particularly at railway crossings, prompted the government to construct the Nurtanio Flyover to improve transportation. This study aims to examine the impact of the Nurtanio Flyover construction on the social and economic conditions of the community in Garuda Village, Andir District, Bandung City. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method, collecting data through interviews and documentation studies with residents living near the project and relevant parties. The results indicate that the flyover construction did not significantly impact the local community's occupational patterns. However, several businesses were relocated due to the project. Some residents, particularly small traders, experienced a decrease in income, as well as changes in social interaction patterns due to disrupted access and reduced pedestrian activity. The study's conclusions indicate the need for government mitigation strategies to address these adverse socioeconomic conditions and to ensure the sustainability of environmental carrying capacity and the well-being of the community surrounding the project.
