Abstract

Abstract: Currently, developments in the business sector are experiencing a very rapid pace. Various factors that influence this include advances in science, technology, politics and culture as well as proper management of each company. The development of the business world cannot be denied because it is greatly influenced by many factors that are directly and indirectly involved in the development of the business world. The aim of this research is to find out investment problems, find out the impact of corn investment on indigenous communities and to find out the parties' efforts in dealing with corn plantation problems by PT BAPP. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. The results of this research indicate that PT BAPP and indigenous communities have not held joint discussions so that there is an agreement on location permits by indigenous communities. The business sector in land use in West Papua is very superior, one of which is the oil palm and cocoa plantation sector, which is the most superior commodity in each district, and is considered to be able to lift the regional economy. Other commodities that are also superior include coffee, nutmeg, coconut, etc. The reality in the field that researchers have encountered is that the business sector has experienced rejection because they have carried out land processing without obtaining legal permission from the land owner. One of them is PT. Agro Prima Perkasa which invests in corn plantations in Tambrauw Regency, Southwest Papua Province. Keywords: Indigenous Peoples, Corn plantation investment, PT BAPP
