Abstract

Land acquisition for public interest carried out by government agencies is, in principle, aligned with community needs. The land acquisition in Baleharjo Village is categorized as small-scale, intended for the development of a waste management and Tempat Pembuangan Sampah Terakhir (TPST). The main issue identified lies in the implementation stage, namely the discrepancy between the land certificate documents and the results of re-measurement using modern measurement technology. In addition, a drainage channel from the TPST has caused erosion on community-owned land. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach to analyze the underlying causes of these problems as well as the environmental impacts on surrounding communities. The results show that although the land acquisition process was carried out in accordance with procedures, there are weaknesses in measurement accuracy, land ownership status, and community participation. From an environmental perspective, the risks of soil and water pollution have been minimized through adequate technical management, but air pollution in the form of odor remains a concern among residents.
