Abstract

This research aims to identify potential food agricultural land in Sumberagung Village, Moyudan District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region Province. With a population of 15,502 people and an area of ± 819,707 Ha, Sumberagung District has agricultural land of ± 354,193 Ha which is dominated by rice. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation studies. The research results show that Sumberagung Village has various potentials, including fertile soil, a supportive climate, adequate water sources and good infrastructure. However, factors such as rapid population growth, population movement, and economic conditions that influence land conversion pose challenges in agricultural development. The impact of this change has the potential to threaten local food security. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase agricultural productivity through training, access to technology, and support from the government to achieve sustainable food security in Sumberagung District.
