Abstract

Based on the assessment of community group data by the Wonogiri Regency Land Office, women farmers were designated as one of the empowerment subjects in the Agrarian Reform Access Arrangement (PARA) program in Sendangmulyo Village, which is a member of the Women Farmers Group (KWT). Problems arise because KWT members do not all have access to training, counseling, business strengthening, and marketing. Ideally, PARA is an economic empowerment program that encourages the strengthening of the capacity of agrarian refroma subjects in a fair and equitable manner. This study aims to analyze the role of women farmers in agricultural knowledge management, involvement in training in organic fertilizer making, and the role of women farmers in strengthening economic independence after the implementation of the PARA program. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method through semi-structured interviews, field observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that women farmers are not only beneficiaries of the program, but also play a role in receiving, blending, managing, disseminating, and applying agricultural knowledge. Their involvement in organic fertilizer training can be seen through the division of collective tasks, preparation of ingredients, fermentation practices, recording of compositions, and the preparation of simple SOPs. In its application, organic fertilizers have been tested on rice fields and yards, although they have not completely replaced chemical fertilizers. The role of women farmers also strengthens economic independence through organic fertilizer production businesses, efficiency of agricultural production costs, group learning, and increased confidence to appear in regular meetings of farmer groups. However, in terms of packaging, labeling, marketing, licensing, capital, and fertilizer raw materials are still limitations that need to be strengthened.
