Abstract

The shortage of young farmers has become one of the problems experienced by Indonesia, with the low interest of youth being one of the contributing factors, compounded by the ongoing implementation of one of the national strategic programs, namely toll road land acquisition, which has resulted in a reduction of farmland. This study aims to identify the factors that affect farmer regeneration after the land acquisition for the Yogyakarta-Bawen toll road, with a case study in Margokaton Village, and then to model farmer regeneration based on agents using simulations with NetLogo software and simulate the treatment given to variable X. This study uses the multiple linear regression quantitative method to process statistical data, which is then used for agent-based model simulation. The data processing results show that the Resource/Infrastructure Factor and Social Environment affect youth interest insignificantly, and Policy Interventions significantly affect the interest of youth in entering the agricultural sector. A model can be built based on the multiple linear regression equation formula so that the model is able to simulate farmer regeneration, with the influence of each factor being increased, the model simulates the occurrence of farmer regeneration in Margokaton village following the land procurement for the Yogyakarta-Bawen Toll Road. This study can conclude that Resource/Infrastructure Factors, Social Environment, and Policy Interventions affect the interest of youth in entering the agricultural sector, then the model can be run using the multiple linear regression formula, and the model simulates the occurrence of farmer regeneration in Margokaton village by increasing the influence of these factors.
