Abstract

The conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural uses in Citeureup District, Bogor Regency, continues to increase in line with population growth, industrial development, and infrastructure development. This condition has the potential to reduce the area of productive agricultural land and threaten regional food security. This study aims to analyze the rate and distribution pattern of land conversion, identify the factors that influence it, and assess its impact on food security in Citeureup District. The study used a mixed methods approach with a spatial approach through analysis of Sentinel-2 imagery in 2020 and 2025, the Average Nearest Neighbor (ANN) method, multiple linear regression analysis, and calculations of rice-based food availability and demand. The results show that agricultural land conversion is dominated by changes to built-up areas and is influenced by population, economic, and regional development factors. Although Citeureup District still has a food surplus, the decreasing trend in agricultural land area has the potential to reduce food production capacity. Predictions indicate that food security will reach its limit at 531,438 hectares of agricultural land in approximately 2.16 years if the rate of land conversion continues. Therefore, controlling land conversion and protecting sustainable agricultural land is necessary to ensure future food security.
