Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the potential of the agricultural and tourism sectors in improving community welfare in Banjarasri Village, Kalibawang District, Kulon Progo Regency. The research employed a descriptive method using quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires involving 30 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics with SPSS and the P4T (Land Ownership, Land Use, Land Utilization, and Land Control) approach. The results show that Banjarasri Village has significant potential in both the agricultural and tourism sectors. The agricultural sector is supported by extensive farmland with major commodities including rice, secondary crops, horticulture, and plantations. Meanwhile, the tourism sector is developed through religious, cultural, historical, natural, UMKM-based, and special-interest tourism. Factors affecting the optimization of both sectors include human resources, land conditions, institutions, infrastructure, capital, and community participation. The analysis indicates that the agricultural sector achieved a mean score of 95.33 (high category), while the tourism sector obtained a mean score of 65.33 (moderate category). Therefore, the agricultural sector is considered more dominant in improving community welfare, although the tourism sector still has considerable potential for future development.
