Abstract

Green Open Space (GOS) is a crucial element in urban spatial planning, serving ecological, social, and economic functions. The MH Thamrin Green Open Space (RTH) in Bojonegoro Regency not only serves as a public space for recreation and community interaction but also encourages economic development in the surrounding area. This study aims to analyze the impact of the MH Thamrin Green Open Space (RTH) on the social and economic conditions of the community surrounding Jalan MH Thamrin. This study employed a quantitative descriptive method. Data collection was conducted through observation, questionnaire distribution, and documentation. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, with 60 respondents, consisting of 30 local residents and 30 business owners. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis with percentages to describe the community's social and economic conditions. The results indicate that the MH Thamrin Green Open Space (RTH) has a positive impact on the community's social conditions through increased social interaction, recreational activities, and sports. From an economic perspective, the green open space creates business opportunities, increases visitor numbers, and provides additional income for businesses in the surrounding area. Nevertheless, the arrangement of economic activities still needs to be improved to maintain the primary function of green open space. Therefore, sustainable green open space management is necessary to ensure that the community continues to enjoy social and economic benefits without compromising the area's ecological function.
