Abstract

Regional expansion may accelerate land use change and influence its conformity with the Regional Spatial Plan (RTRW). This study aims to analyze post-expansion land use changes, evaluate the conformity of land use changes with the Boyolali Regency Spatial Plan, and identify the factors influencing land use incompatibility in Tamansari District. A quantitative method with a spatial approach was employed. The analysis utilized Geographic Information Systems (GIS) through Sentinel-2 image interpretation, overlay analysis, land use change analysis, and multiple linear regression. The results indicate that land use change was dominated by the conversion of dryland agriculture into shrubland (17.87%) and settlements (10.34%). Spatially, land development tends to cluster around existing settlements and extend linearly along major road corridors. The conformity evaluation revealed that 54.73% of land use changes were classified as conforming, 44.18% as partially conforming, and 1.09% as non-conforming with the RTRW. Multiple regression analysis showed that road proximity, settlement proximity, and public facility proximity jointly had a significant effect on land use incompatibility, while individually only road proximity was statistically significant. These findings are expected to provide input for spatial planning control and future evaluation of the RTRW in Tamansari District following regional expansion.
