Abstract
Gunungkidul Regency is a karst area with limited water availability, posing challenges to agricultural productivity and food security. The Groundwater Irrigation Network (Jaringan Irigasi Air Tanah/JIAT) has been developed to provide irrigation water for agricultural land. However, the unequal distribution of irrigation services has resulted in different levels of accessibility among agricultural land parcels. This study aims to identify the condition of the Groundwater Irrigation Network (JIAT) in Karangrejek Village and to analyze the relationship betweenS agricultural production factors and rice-equivalent production, as well as the effect of the distance of agricultural land parcels from the JIAT network on food security. This study employed a mixed methods approach using an exploratory sequential strategy. Qualitative data were collected through observations, interviews, and document reviews to describe the condition of JIAT and the relationship between agricultural production factors and rice-equivalent production. Quantitative analysis was conducted using simple linear regression, while spatial analysis was performed using ArcGIS. The results show that the Bulak Blimbing JIAT provides a sustainable water supply for irrigation, although its service coverage has not reached all agricultural land parcels. Major issues include limited service coverage, irrigation scheduling, pump operational costs, and network maintenance. Agricultural production factors were found to be associated with rice-equivalent production. Furthermore, the regression analysis indicates that the distance of agricultural land parcels from the JIAT network has a significant effect on food security. Shorter distances provide better access to irrigation water, which supports improved household food security.
