Abstract
Kalurahan Banjaroyo possesses diverse tourism potential, including nature, religious, cultural, historical, agro-tourism, and man-made attractions. However, these potentials have not been optimally utilized due to several constraints, including the lack of integrated destination management, limited tourism- supporting facilities and infrastructure, inadequate human resource capacity, and suboptimal tourism promotion. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the local potential that supports tourism development in Kalurahan Banjaroyo and to formulate tourism development strategies based on its local potential. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive analytical approach. Informants were selected using purposive sampling and consisted of representatives from the village government, tourism destination managers, tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis), and the local community. Primary and secondary data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, documentation, and document review. Data were analyzed descriptively to identify local tourism potential, followed by a SWOT analysis using the Internal Factor Analysis Summary (IFAS), External Factor Analysis Summary (EFAS), and Threats, Opportunities, Weaknesses, Strengths (TOWS) matrices to formulate tourism development strategies. The findings indicate that Kalurahan Banjaroyo possesses complementary tourism potential supported by relatively good accessibility, the presence of local institutions, and community participation in tourism management. Nevertheless, tourism development continues to face challenges, including the uneven availability of tourism-supporting facilities, limited human resource capacity, fragmented destination management, and ineffective tourism promotion. Based on the SWOT analysis, the recommended tourism development strategy emphasizes integrated tourism area development based on local potential through institutional strengthening, human resource capacity development, improvement of tourism facilities and infrastructure, integrated tourism package development, optimization of digital promotion, and enhanced collaboration among the government, local communities, and business stakeholders. These strategies are expected to promote integrated, competitive, and sustainable tourism development in Kalurahan Banjaroyo.
