Abstract
The construction of Yogyakarta International Airport carried out by the government has resulted in changes in land use, both in the airport construction area and the area around Temon urban area. This development needs to be observed so as not to have a negative impact on development. This study aims to examine the pattern of land use change between 2012-2020 and the impact of the construction of Yogyakarta International Airport on the development of the Temon urban area. This study uses a qualitative research method with a spatial approach. The results of this study indicate that the distribution pattern of land use change in the Temon urban area and aerocity in 2012-2020 is a random pattern. The physical and socio-economic impacts of the construction of Yogyakarta International Airport include the reduction in agricultural land due to development, the large number of investors who come to build supporting facilities around the airport, the increase in GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product) of Kulon Progo Regency in 2020, many entertainment establishments arise which become a trigger for changes in people's mentality and morals and changing lifestyles due to money from land acquisition.
