Abstract

Agriculture is a strategic sector that has an important role in economic growth and food security in a country. However, from time to time agricultural land is increasingly eroded due to land conversion, where productive agricultural land continues to decrease to non-agricultural land. This study aims to map the potential of LP2B and its impact in Sumenep Regency as well as map the suitability of LP2B with RTRW and map the suitability of LP2B with Land Use. The method used in this study is a mixed method with a spatial approach. The results show that : (1) there are more than 500 Ha of agriculture land that potentially lost or or change into other use, therefore detailed regulation should be implemented through LP2B; (2) suitability area of LP2B and RTRW (Spatial Planning) was identified as 10,568.478 Ha, or 64.91% of the total area of research. On the other hand, there are 5,713.012 Ha or 35.09% identified as unsuitable. (3) There are 12,377.613 area identified as match between existing use and LP2B, or 81.55% of the total area, and unsuitable area are 16,281.485 Ha .
