Abstract
The implementation of land acquisition for public interest is often faced with problems. This study aims to explore the factors that influence the successful implementation of land acquisition in the Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) flood control and coastal safety project in Kulon Progo Regency. The research method used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach through interviews and documentation. The results showed that the implementation of land acquisition was carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. Supporting factors include public interest, government policy, and participation of related parties. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include funding, administration, landowner rejection, and changes in land conditions. The proposed solutions are budget optimization, improved coordination, effective communication and socialization, and acceleration of the land acquisition process. It is expected that the implementation of these solutions can improve the success of land acquisition implementation and contribute to the success of the YIA flood control and coastal safety project.
