Abstract

One of the problems faced in land acquisition activities is the conversion of agricultural land into non-agricultural land. This can have a negative impact on people who work as farmers. This research aims to find out the life after land acquisition in Palihan Village, Temon Subdistrict, Kulon Progo Regency as seen from ownership, control, and management of agricultural land, strategies to maintain farming businesses, and changes in welfare that occur. The research method used was qualitative research with a narrative approach. The results showed that land acquisition led to significant changes in the status of agricultural land ownership as well as in the management of Planting Period 3 which resulted in a decrease in income. Strategies undertaken by the community to maintain the farming business include active strategies by involving family members in management, passive strategies in the form of saving production costs, and network strategies through cooperation with middlemen.
