Abstract

The Spatial Plan (RTRW) functions as a strategic instrument to support the planning and management of regional development in a directed and sustainable manner. Significant land use changes in the Pedan Urban Area in recent years necessitate monitoring and evaluation of land use conformity with the established spatial pattern plan. This study aimed to analyze the distribution of existing land use in Pedan Urban Area and assess its conformity with the spatial pattern plan of Klaten Regency. A quantitative method with a spatial approach was employed. The results showed that land use in 2025 comprised seven categories: settlements (3,777.85 Ha), non agricultural industries (242.23 Ha), sports facilities (42.10 Ha), wetland agriculture (6,285.37 Ha), dryland agriculture (744.07 Ha), rivers (18.63 Ha), and roads (8.81 Ha). The spatial distribution patterns were clustered (non agricultural industries and roads), random (dryland agriculture and rivers), and uniform (settlements, sports facilities, and wetland agriculture). The conformity analysis indicated that 86.44% of land use was classified as “suitable”, 0.52% as “unsuitable”, and 13.04% as “supportive”. The conformity pattern shows that random patterns are generally “unsuitable”, while uniform patterns are typically “suitable” or “supportive”. Keywords: Pedan Urban Area, Land Use Suitability, Spatial Pattern, RTRW, Spatial Distribution.
