Abstract
Rapid rice-field conversion in fast-growing areas such as the Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) corridor can threaten food security and intensify landuse disputes when Protected Rice Fields (LSD) are not aligned with RDTR zoning that is integrated into OSS licensing. This study maps the spatial distribution of LSD–RDTR mismatches . A census-based quantitative–spatial survey was conducted across 25 villages, using secondary data (LSD map, RDTR zoning map, population, and land value zones) analyzed through GIS overlay (matched vs. mismatched area), Average Nearest Neighbor (ANN) (distribution pattern), and multiple linear regression (drivers). Results show a total LSD area of 1,915.82 ha, with 455.26 ha (23.76%) mismatching RDTR—highest in Temon (32.06%) and peaking in Kebonrejo (78.41%), Sindutan (63.57%), Temon Kulon (60.80%), and Palihan (54.20%); mismatches mostly overlap built-up zoning, notably High-Density Housing (31.78%) and Road Infrastructure (11.21%). At the area scale, the pattern is broadly random (NNR≈1.1456) with subdistrict-level variation. The regression model is significant (R²=0.525; p=0.001), indicating that a higher RDTR rice-field proportion significantly reduces mismatches, while population is not significant and land value shows a marginal positive tendency. Overall, LSD–RDTR mismatches around YIA are substantial and closely linked to built-up zoning expansion; the findings support strengthening agricultural zoning consistency, updating/verifying LSD–RDTR spatial datasets to reduce permitting frictions, and future multitemporal research incorporating accessibility and licensing dynamics.
