Abstract

Land acquisition for the construction of the Kediri-Tulungagung Toll Road has had a significant impact on the agricultural sector in Tambibendo Village, Kediri Regency. This study aims to analyze the impact of land acquisition on agricultural productivity and community livelihoods. A qualitative method was employed, utilizing a land economics approach reinforced by descriptive analysis and in-depth interviews with 33 eligible parties (affected farmers) and the Village Head. The results show that land acquisition resulted in a reduction of approximately 23 hectares of productive land dominated by sugarcane, with a potential reduction in harvest yields reaching 479.3 tons of sugarcane (98% of the total decrease) worth IDR 718.9 million per season. Despite this, 90.9% of informants remained farmers through adaptation strategies: utilizing remaining land and using compensation money to buy back agricultural land (75.8% of informants). Only 9.1% switched to the non-agricultural sector. This study concludes that land acquisition has a significant impact on agricultural productivity but does not change the livelihood structure en masse. This research contributes to the recommendation of assistance in the utilization of compensation funds and alternative skills training for affected communities.
