Abstract

Food security is an important component of national development the availability of paddy fields as a major source of food in Indonesia. However, the conversion of agricultural land into non-agricultural use has been increasing over the past few decades. This has led to a decrease in land area and productivity, thereby threatening food security. Food in Glagah Sub-district, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java. Rapid development this is due to the development of settlements, tourism, and industry. On average, 51 hectares of productive paddy fields are lost each year. This representsُaُsignificantُchallenge.ُIt’sُsignificantُforُ the regional economy, which still relies heavily on the agricultural sector. This research the purpose is to measure the extent and patterns of the conversion of paddy fields from agricultural land to non-agricultural land. Agriculture, as well as understanding the impact of converting paddy fields to other uses on productivity agriculture in Banyuwangi Regency, particularly in Glagah District. This research method employs quantitative approaches. Techniques for data collection it is carried out through image interpretation, observation, interviews, and document analysis. Research findings it shows that, based on the land use maps for the years 2021 and 2025, there has been a shift in land use. The largest areas of addyُfieldsُforُagriculturalُuseُinُGlagahُDistrictُareُfoundُwithinُthatُdistrict’sُ boundaries. East Glagah refers to the areas of Bakungan, Banjarsari, and Rejosari. The pattern is as follows the conversion of paddy fields from agricultural use to non-agricultural purposes is part of this pattern. As a result, there is uneven regional development. The consequences of this include decline in food security, threats to biodiversity, increasing costs Land and living costs, as well as disparities in development levels. Simple linear regression analysis it shows that the conversion of agricultural land has a significant impact on agricultural productivity in Glagah District.
