Abstract
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are a key driver of the local economy at the village level, absorbing labor, increasing community income, and strengthening regional economic resilience. Kalurahan Sitimulyo, Kapanewon Piyungan, Bantul Regency, has 638 registered MSMEs across four business categories: culinary, production, trade, and services. However, MSME data management in this village still relies on administrative documents and spreadsheet files that are not integrated into a single system, and business locations have not been presented on a digital map. This limits the village government’s ability to obtain a spatial overview of business distribution and reduces the opportunity for MSME actors to be recognized by a wider public. This study aims to design, build, and implement a web-based Geographic Information System (WebGIS) for managing and presenting MSME distribution data in Kalurahan Sitimulyo. This research applies a mixed method approach combining qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained through observation, interviews with village officials and MSME actors, and document study using purposive sampling to identify the condition of MSME data management, user needs, and system requirements. Quantitative data were obtained through a User Acceptance Test (UAT) questionnaire, processed using descriptive statistics in percentages to measure user acceptance of the developed WebGIS. Spatial data consist of MSME coordinate points obtained through Google Maps, while village and sub-village boundaries were processed from shapefile data using QGIS and converted into GeoJSON. The system was built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with Leaflet.js on the front end, PHP and MySQL on the back end, and CARTO as the basemap. The resulting WebGIS presents 150 MSMEs as sample data in an interactive digital map, with markers differentiated by business category, sub-village boundary layers, map legends, search and filter features, statistical summaries, location routing, and data export to PDF and Excel. An administrator dashboard enables village officials to independently add, modify, delete, and manage MSME data and categories. Blackbox testing confirmed all fourteen tested functions worked as expected, and the UAT obtained a total score of 849 out of 1000, or 84.9%, categorized as Very Good. These results indicate that the developed WebGIS is functionally sound and well accepted by users as a medium for MSME data management and location-based business information.
