Abstract

Protected Paddy Fields (Lahan Sawah Dilindungi/LSD) are designated to maintain agricultural land and support food security. However, regional development in Brangsong District has led to changes in land use that affect the conformity of spatial utilization on LSD areas. This study aims to analyze the actual spatial utilization on LSD and identify the factors influencing land-use changes between 2022 and 2025. This research employed a qualitative approach with spatial analysis using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The analysis was conducted through overlay techniques involving LSD maps, land-use maps, and satellite imagery, supported by field observations, document studies, and interviews with relevant stakeholders. The resultsindicate that most LSD areasin Brangsong Districtremain utilized as agricultural land, while several areas have changed into settlements, industrial areas, roads, and public facilities. The main factors influencing these changes include regional development, industrial growth, infrastructure expansion, economic considerations, and environmental conditions. The verification process through the LSD Adjustment Agreement has been essential in aligning protected paddy field designation with actual land-use conditions.
